Dear Families and Friends of Creating Together,
We’re jetting into July! June is gone, and amidst the amazing outdoor programs, parent and caregiver discussions, community outings and guests, we can truly say: time flies when you’re having fun! On this day, Canada Day, July 1st, we encourage everyone to reflect on the original caretakers of this land, those who were here long before what we now call Canada. Though the centre is closed today, we look forward to reflecting further on this, and continue to offer learning opportunities this month at Creating Together.

Program Updates
We continue to offer programs Monday - Friday, and two Saturdays a month.
Our doors are open:
Monday - Thursday 9:00 am - 2:30 pm
Friday 9:00 am - 1:30 pm
Two Saturdays a month:
10:00am - 2:00pm
We ask that all families come prepared to remove their shoes when in the centre – feel free to bring a pair of indoor shoes or slippers!
July Special Events
Our July Calendar has lots of exciting curricular activities, guests, parent/caregiver discussions, and outings planned! Be sure to follow on Facebook and Instagram for weekly updates.
On July 27th at 10:00 am you’re invited to an exciting Parent & Caregiver Workshop with Child Development Institute: Positive Parenting and Social Emotional Development. For this particular program we ask families to RSVP by July 19th so we can confirm numbers with a minimum of 5 attendees. Creating Together staff will support your children in the playroom while you participate in the workshop in the kitchen.

Child-led Outdoor Play at Beaty Parkette 9:00 am - 10:30 am
Group Time at Creating Together: 10:45 am
Snack: 11:00 am
Child-led Play: 11:15 am - 12:25 pm
Group Time: 12:30 pm
Child-led Play: 12:45 am - 2:15 pm
Goodbye Circle to end program at: 2:30 pm
Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays:
Child-led Play: 9:00 am - 10:45 am
Group Time: 10:45 am

Outdoor Program
Due to the anticipated weather inconsistency we will be suspending Wednesday afternoon outdoor programs for July, yet we continue to offer exciting outdoor programs on Monday and Tuesday mornings from 9:00am to 10:30am at Beaty Avenue Parkette (66 Beaty Ave). There will be plenty of additional opportunities to get outside with Creating Together throughout the month - keep your eyes on our calendar for further details! We will plan for opportunities to play outside before 11:00 am in order to avoid peak temperature times, or plan shorter adventures. A reminder that the centre will be closed during outdoor programs with the exception of access to the washroom. In the event of severe weather, program will run indoors.

COVID-19 Protocol
We continue to invite you and your family to self-screen using the following tool or our posted notice at the door. For the safety and respect of all of our community members, we continue to ask that you remain at home if a member of your household feels unwell. Please ensure you sign yourself in and out of the program on the attendance sheet.
Our staff will remain masked, and encourage adults and children over the age of two who can comfortably mask, to do so. We are thankful for your continued cooperation and consideration.

We have some exciting news to share – Creating Together is moving! We can’t wait to settle into our new Parkdale location in August. We’ll be announcing further details very soon!

Resource Boxes
Resource Box materials continue to be limited, yet will still be available for pick up this month, in the first two weeks of July, until July 15th. July marks the final month of Resource Boxes.

We’re so thrilled to welcome Fatima, our summer staff joining us for the season. Fatima is a parkdale local, a student of child and youth work, and the child of a Creating Together family, herself! If you haven’t already, be sure to wave Hello!
Survey
Toronto Public Health is running a survey to better understand parents’ thoughts on COVID-19 vaccines for children who are between the ages of 6 months and 4 years. Results from the survey will help to inform how and where vaccines should be made available to children of these ages in Toronto.
They are looking for parents and guardians of children under the age of 5 years old to complete this survey. The survey will open on June 20th, 2022.
