If you're based in Edmonton head over to Sherbrooke Liquor and you'll spot our logo on the whisky shelves. Our latest 'Dram Fine Gems' have been selected and we think they are a bunch of fabulous drams to sip this spooky season.
If you're not based in Edmonton, that doesn't stop these being great whisky suggestions for any budget, and we love sharing our love of the drams with you all.
Check out the October DRAM FINE GEMS:
1. Lochlea First Release
Matured in first-fill bourbon and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks at the Ayrshire Distillery. It is bottled naturally with no added colouring and is non-chill filtered. The spirit is distilled from the barley grown in the field beside the distillery giving that grain to glass goodness.
Tasting note: Fresh apple and peach, mixed with malt and nutty notes. Balanced with mild vanilla and a light earthy touch.
2. Bimber Canada Edition 2021
This Bimber edition was made specifically for the Canadian market for PWS. And the whisky which agedThe fermentations at Bimber are lengthy, and take place in wooden wash-backs, and then distillates in smaller stills before aging in an exceptional ex-bourbon oak cask giving those fabulous fruity notes. Non chill-filtration, no added colour, 58.7% ABV.
Tasting note: tropical fruits and herbal notes on the nose, super sweet on the palate with honey and mango fruit flavours .
3. Old Perth Vintage Collection 1996
A lovely vintage addition to the Old Perth range, this limited edition bottle is a unique vatting of Single Malt Scotch Whisky from various distilleries, all from the same year. Using liquid that's been exclusively matured in Oloroso and PX Sherry casks and all distilled in 1996. Non chill-filtration, no added colour, 55.8% ABV.
Tasting note: Balancing layers of sweet, sherry spice, with just a touch of elegant smoke on the finish.
