I have been teaching in a variety of capacities since 2013. I have taught students of all ages and in almost every subject imaginable! However, my specialty is math and science, here's why...
I have a bachelor's degree in biochemistry and biology. It was during that time that I realized that I had a knack for teaching. I started teaching while volunteering at a local church in one of the poorest areas of New Orleans. During that time, I had one student that I worked with for a year who struggled with reading. He showed me that compassion is the most important aspect of teaching and I still carry that with me.
While I was in graduate school earning my master's in Biomedical Sciences, I decided to become certified in teaching college students. That is when I realized I preferred teaching over research and began my journey in education.
Now, I focus on teaching students how to become better students overall and how to become test takers for standardized tests.
On a typical day, I'm on & off Google Meet all day with my pup by my side!
My magic with students lies in understanding their perspective and breaking it down in a palatable way that makes sense to them. I want every kiddo to see the magic that lies within the STEM fields.
