Perception deals with the way you look at things. What lens are you viewing different aspects of your life? What angles or sides, positive or negative, rational or emotional? Everyone has developed to look at things in a certain way over the years. Our past experiences have clouded our judgment; therefore, we may have narrowed our focus. It depends on the individual. We all come from different backgrounds and have different beliefs about ourselves, others, and topics in general. We can explore these topics, such as your life, relationships, job, money, and passions. Nothing is ever good or bad; our thoughts make our perceptions about these subjects and cause us to treat them this way.
So if your life is not even close to what you would like it to be, how are you thinking about your life and how it is going? Do you think you will succeed and get something positive, or do you think on the other extreme? My life stinks, and nothing ever good happens to me. When we come to a situation, are we letting past baggage cloud our judgment and already have a bias before anything happens? Or are you considering all of the possibilities? We usually get what we expect or are close to it; What are you expecting? Good or Bad? Is life complicated, or are we complicating our own lives with our thinking?
We can not control anything outside of ourselves. We can control how we show up to ourselves, others, and each experience. Think about what energy I am bringing to this moment and how my results are from this happening. We are our experiment in progress. How do you see this project called your life and its intricacies turning out? What is your perception? Your perception of your life is your limitation. If you perceive and expect more from yourself, you will see and experience more.
"If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change." -Wayne Dyer
