We're heading into our 2nd set of shows with Aston, Rory and Agatha! I'm going in with a few hopes and dreams - maybe they'll come true, maybe they wont, but my fingers and toes are all crossed! 💖Aston is currently 1 point away from completing his Canadian Championship. This would be his 3rd show weekend - he attended a few shows in the summer of 2021 (no points, though).
So, without further ado, here's my schedule!
SATURDAY, April 16th, 2021 --> Showing at 2:00pm (Meet & Greet 3)
SUNDAY, April 17th, 2021 --> Showing at 9:30am (Meet & Greet 4) and at 4:00pm (please note that I will be rushing home after my final show on Sunday afternoon, so if you're looking to watch the Pem ring at 4pm, I might just be in and out!)
In order to get ready for this weekend, there's been a lot of practice and planning behind the scenes 😊 Almost every weekend, Rory/Gabby and Agatha/myself head to handling classes with Noreena Seery (who, by the way, is the most amazing coach and confidante). If anybody in the Ottawa area is interested in learning how to show dogs, she's your lady!
In addition to this, Agatha and I have daily short practice sessions, where we practice both gaiting (exhibiting even motion as befits the breed standard) and stacking (standing still in a way where a judge can properly evaluate a dog's structure against the standard) both on the ground with me in front of her, and also on a grooming table! 😰 however, I will say working with Agatha has been so rewarding and fun so far! I can't wait to see what she and the others get up to in the ring this upcoming weekend.
Hopefully I can see some of you guys out there? 👀
