Do you remember the last time you were in a complete flow state, lost in the moment, and really gaining satisfaction from doing meaningful work and life moments?
Have you got close to figuring out why you were put here on planet earth? 🌍
These were the questions we posted last week, and I hope this triggered some thoughts on how we can all develop our own methods to try and reach a greater state of focus and happiness each and every day.
But I wanted to add the caveat that reaching this flow and overall self-actualization may as the old cliche says, be far more about the journey than the overall destination.
It is also worth keeping in mind that self-actualization is not a permanent destination - no nirvana - no shangri-la...like the Buddha said - there is an impermanence to life - and most things are subject to change and in constant flux. And we should embrace that change and accept it as the only guarantee in life!
But by aiming for self-actualization we will get closer to it time and time again. Life will have many ups and downs, highs and lows - but by aiming for the middle we give ourselves the power to brush off problems and bring ourselves back to a flow state. Go with the flow? Damn right!
If you're wondering what the hell I'm going on about then here are some tips on how to aim for self-actualization and a happy existence on this third rock from the sun...
1. Practice acceptance
2. Live spontaneously
3. Be comfortable in your own skin
4. Appreciate the little things in life
5. Continue to learn
6. Offer compassion
7. Live true to your own values
More pure gold is on the way next week...
