Specialty coffee is a term used to refer to coffee that has scored over 80 points on a 100 point scale by the SCA (Specialty Coffee Association).
At Sine Coffee Labs, specialty coffee means more than scoring over 80 points. Coffee is a finite organic commodity that is exotic by origin, but extremely ubiquitous among our daily lives. We want to be the connection between you and the entire coffee industry. As a company, we care about the genetics, harvests, fermentation, roasting, and sustainability of our product.
THIS MONTH'S ROAST
Resonance is the new product we created at Sine Coffee Labs to provide a solid, delicious offering for our customers to have continuously. Coffee is an agricultural product and like any crop, it will produce fruit in different seasons at different times of the year around the world. Resonance allows us to provide our customers with fresh, consistent coffee to you year-round. At times, this coffee could be a blend of a different coffee origins and processes, or it could be a single origin, but it will always be approachable for all coffee drinkers alike.
We have carefully and purposefully chosen this blend of Costa Rica and Brazil to be a delicious versatile coffee. Whether you are pulling this coffee as espresso, brewing in a pour over system, in a french press, or a regular automated drip machine, this coffee has a great balance to offer you. We are happy to use this coffee as our house espresso and house medium roast!

THIS MONTH'S PANTRY PICK
Summer Sips! This month's pantry pick is the Radler syrup from Third Place Cocktail Co. in Newfoundland & Labrador. Relentless in their pursuit of better quality cocktails and cocktail products, Dan Meades and Kris Smith founded The Third Place Cocktail Co in 2015. Their first product, bearing the same name, revived the gin and tonic to its illustrious past by creating a tonic worthy of sharing a glass with world-class gin. All The Third Place Cocktails products are hand-made in small batches in St. John’s Newfoundland with the finest ingredients available.
In the dog days of summer, 1922, an industrious, Munich innkeeper ran into a little problem: thirsty cyclists, or radler, were consuming his stock of beer at an alarming rate while his homemade lemonade just wasn’t selling at all. At a risk of running out of beer (and losing patrons to another inn) Franz Xaver Kugler mixed the lemonade with his remaining beer and named the concoction after his beloved patrons – the Radler!
It’s in this tradition that we bring you the our very own Radler. A complex and citrus heavy concentrate that allows you to go back to a time when a radler didn’t come in a can, but came about when a quality beer was enhanced by the addition of refreshing citrus flavour. Using fresh citrus zest and juice, as well as a host of other ingredients that add citrus complexity and work well with a good brew, we’ve created a product that turns any bottled lager, pilsner or pale ale into a delicious Radler that is sure to quench the thirst on any hot summer day.

You know when you start to looking at the ingredients on the labels of your skincare products, it's hard not to question what these things are, and "why am I putting them on my skin?". Our skin is the largest organ in our body, and on average women put over 500 chemicals on their skin per day. But why? There must be a better way.
And that's exactly what sparked our co-founders, Jessica McNeil and Kiersten Hanly to start Scrub Inspired in 2013. The first scrub they made came from a thriving garden plant, add in some sea salt from the cupboard, olive oil, and freshly zested grapefruit. People around them loved it, and wanted more. They realized how complicated the skincare market has become, and we're passionate about simplifying it.
I don't know about you, but I am about ready to crack open that Radler, and enjoy a cheeky afternoon drink! Show us what you get up to with your August Coffee Lover's Box by tagging us on instagram & don't forget to tell a friend!
Until next month,
